This session will discuss why refractive laser surgery and advanced cataract surgery requires accurate planning and perfect execution to achieve optimal refractive results.
In this session, the current understanding and management of unexpected refractive results will be presented. Astigmatism correction is a key point to achieve plano results after refractive laser surgery and cataract surgery. The faculty will cover management techniques for pre-existing astigmatism, with a focus on pre-operative diagnosis, patient selection, corneal marking techniques, surgical pearls, and available treatment options, including toric IOLs and nomograms. Recent advances, including posterior corneal astigmastim measurement and image guided axis marking for toric IOL implantation, will be presented.
